ܘܐܡܪ ܫܡܘܐܝܠ ܠܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܗܐ ܫܡܥܬ ܒܩܠܟܘܢ ܟܘܠ ܕܐܡܪܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܘܐܡܠܟܬ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ
mlk' elykwn w'mlkth ly d'mrthwn kwl bqlkwn shmeth h' 'ysr'yl lklh shmw'yl w'mr
Samuel said to all Israel, “Behold, I have listened to your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you.

ܘܗܫܐ ܗܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܢܐ ܣܐܒܬ ܘܩܫܬ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܗܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܘܐܢܐ ܗܠܟܬ ܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܛܠܝܘܬܝ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܢܐ
lywmn' wedm' Tlywthy mn qdmykwn hlkth w'n' emkwn h' wbny wqshth s'bth w'n' qdmykwn mlk' h' whsh'
Now, behold, the king walks before you. I am old and gray-headed. Behold, my sons are with you. I have walked before you from my youth to this day.

ܗܐ ܩܐܡ ܐܢܐ ܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܣܗܕܘ ܒܝ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܩܕܡ ܡܫܝܚܗ ܬܘܪܐ ܕܡ̇ܢ ܕܒܪܬ ܘܚܡܪܐ ܕܡ̇ܢ ܕܒܪܬ ܐܘ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܛܠܡܬ ܐܘ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܐܠܨܬ ܐܘ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܡ̇ܢ ܢܣܒܬ ܫܘܚܕܐ ܘܐܨܕܬ ܥܝܢܝ ܒܗ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܦܪܘܥܟܘܢ
'prwekwn w'n' ly 'mrw bh eyny w'tsdth shwkhd' nsbth dmn 'yd' mn 'w 'ltsth lmn 'w Tlmth lmn 'w dbrth dmn wkhmr' dbrth dmn thwr' mshykhh wqdm mry' qdm by shdw qdmykwn 'n' q'm h'
Here I am. Witness against me before Yahweh and before his anointed. Whose ox have I taken? Whose donkey have I taken? Whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Of whose hand have I taken a bribe to make me blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.”

ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܠܐ ܛܠܡܬܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܠܨܬܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܣܒܬ ܡܢ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܢ ܡܕܡ
mdm mnn 'nsh mn nsbth wl' 'ltsthn wl' Tlmthn l' lh 'mryn
They said, “You have not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither have you taken anything from anyone’s hand.”

ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܗ̇ܕ ܒܟܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܣ̇ܗܕ ܒܟܘܢ ܡܫܝܚܗ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܬܘܢ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܝ ܡܕܡ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܣܗ̇ܕ

He said to them, “Yahweh is witness against you, and his anointed is witness today, that you have not found anything in my hand.” They said, “He is witness.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܫܡܘܐܝܠ ܠܥܡܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܘܠܐܗܪܘܢ ܘܐܣܩ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܬܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ
dmtsryn 're' mn l'bhthn w'sq wl'hrwn lmwsh' debd 'lh' blkhwd hw mry' lem' shmw'yl w'mr
Samuel said to the people, “It is Yahweh who appointed Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

ܩܘܡܘ ܗܫܐ ܘܐܕܘܢܟܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܟܠܗ̇ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܗ ܕܥܒܕ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܘܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ
'bhykwn wem emkwn debd zdyqwthh bklh mry' qdm w'dwnkwn hsh' qwmw
Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before Yahweh concerning all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he did to you and to your fathers.

ܟܕ ܥܠ ܝܥܩܘܒ ܠܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܨܠܝܘ ܐܒ̈ܗܝܟܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܫܕܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܘܫܐ ܘܠܐܗܪܘܢ ܘܐܣܩ ܠܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܐܘܬܒ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' b'thr' 'nwn w'wthb dmtsryn 're' mn l'bhykwn w'sq wl'hrwn lmwsh' mry' wshdr mry' qdm 'bhykwn wtslyw lmtsryn yeqwb el kd
“When Jacob had come into Egypt, and your fathers cried to Yahweh, then Yahweh sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt, and made them to dwell in this place.

ܘܛܥܘ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܗܘܢ ܘܐܫܠܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܣܝܣܪܐ ܪܒ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܚܨܘܪ ܘܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܡܘܐܒ ܘܐܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡܗܘܢ
emhwn w'thkthshw dmw'b dmlk' wb'yd' dplshthy' wb'yd' dkhtswr khyl' rb dsysr' b'yd' 'nwn w'shlm 'lhhwn lmry' wTew
But they forgot Yahweh their God; and he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the army of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them.

ܘܨܠܝܘ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܚܛܝܢ ܥܠ ܕܫܒܩܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܢ ܘܦܠܚܢ ܠܒܥܠܐ ܘܠܓܢܝ̈ܬܐ ܘܗܫܐ ܦܨܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܒܥ̈ܠܕܒܒܝܢ ܘܢܦܠܚܟ
wnplkhk dbeldbbyn 'yd' mn ptsn whsh' wlgnyth' lbel' wplkhn 'lhn lmry' dshbqn el khTyn w'mrw mry' qdm wtslyw
They cried to Yahweh, and said, ‘We have sinned, because we have forsaken Yahweh and have served the Baals and the Ashtaroth; but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve you.’

ܘܫܕܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܒܘܪܐ ܘܠܒܪܩ ܘܠܓܕܥܘܢ ܘܠܢܦܬܚ ܘܠܫܡܫܘܢ ܘܦܨܝܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝܟܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܚܕܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܘܝܬܒܬܘܢ ܒܫܠܝܐ
bshly' wythbthwn khdrykwn dmn dbeldbbykwn 'yd' mn wptsykwn wlshmshwn wlnpthkh wlgdewn wlbrq ldbwr' mry' wshdr
Yahweh sent Jerubbaal, Bedan, Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side; and you lived in safety.

ܘܚܙܝܬܘܢ ܠܢܚܫ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܢܝ̈ ܥܡܘܢ ܕܐܬܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܢܡܠܟ ܥܠܝܢ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ ܡܠܟܟܘܢ
mlkkwn 'lhkwn wmry' elyn nmlk mlk' 'l' hkn' l' w'mrthwn elykwn d'th' emwn dbny mlk' lnkhsh wkhzythwn
“When you saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when Yahweh your God was your king.

ܘܗܫܐ ܗܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܓܒܝܬܘܢ ܘܫܐܠܬܘܢ ܗܐ ܝܗܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ
mlk' mry' lkwn yhb h' wsh'lthwn dgbythwn mlk' h' whsh'
Now therefore see the king whom you have chosen and whom you have asked for. Behold, Yahweh has set a king over you.

ܘܐܢ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܬܦܠܚܘܢܗ ܘܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܩܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܬܡܪܡܪܘܢܗ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܡܠܟ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܒܬܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ
'lhkwn mry' bthr elykwn d'mlk mlk' 'p 'nthwn 'p thhwwn thmrmrwnh wl' bqlh wthshmewn wthplkhwnh mry' mn thdkhlwn w'n
If you will fear Yahweh, and serve him, and listen to his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of Yahweh, then both you and also the king who reigns over you are followers of Yahweh your God.

ܘܐܠܐ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܒܩܠܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܘܢ ܘܬܡܪܡܪܘܢܗ ܬܗܘܐ ܐܝܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܗܘܬ ܒܐ̈ܒܗܝܟܘܢ
b'bhykwn dhwth 'yk bkwn dmry' 'ydh thhw' wthmrmrwnh 'lhkwn dmry' bqlh thshmewn w'l'
But if you will not listen to Yahweh’s voice, but rebel against the commandment of Yahweh, then Yahweh’s hand will be against you, as it was against your fathers.

ܘܗܫܐ ܐܬܛܝܒܘ ܘܚܙܘ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܕܥܒ̇ܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ

“Now therefore stand still and see this great thing, which Yahweh will do before your eyes.

ܗܐ ܚܨܕܐ ܗܘ ܕܚ̈ܛܐ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܐܩܪܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܬܠ ܩܠܐ ܘܡܛܪܐ ܘܕܥܘ ܘܚܙܘ ܕܒܝܫܬܟܘܢ ܪܒܐ ܗܝ ܕܫܐܠܬܘܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ
mlk' lkwn dsh'lthwn hy rb' dbyshthkwn wkhzw wdew wmTr' ql' wnthl lmry' 'qr' ywmn' dkhT' hw khtsd' h'
Isn’t it wheat harvest today? I will call to Yahweh, that he may send thunder and rain; and you will know and see that your wickedness is great, which you have done in Yahweh’s sight, in asking for a king.”

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܩܪܐ ܫܡܘܐܝܠ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܡܪܝܐ ܩܠܐ ܘܡܛܪܐ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܕܚܠܘ ܟܘܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܫܡܘܐܝܠ

So Samuel called to Yahweh, and Yahweh sent thunder and rain that day. Then all the people greatly feared Yahweh and Samuel.

ܘܐܡܪܘ ܟܘܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܠܫܡܘܐܝܠ ܨܠܐ ܥܠ ܥܒ̈ܕܝܟ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ ܘܠܐ ܢܡܘܬ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܘܣܦܢ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܕܫܐܠܢ ܠܢ ܡܠܟܐ
mlk' ln dsh'ln rbth' byshth' khThyn klhwn el d'wspn mTl nmwth wl' 'lhk mry' qdm ebdyk el tsl' lshmw'yl em' kwlh w'mrw
All the people said to Samuel, “Pray for your servants to Yahweh your God, that we not die; for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask for a king.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܫܡܘܐܝܠ ܠܥܡܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܗܕܐ ܟܠܗ̇ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܒܪܡ ܠܐ ܬܣܛܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܬܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܦܘܠܚܘܗܝ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܠܒܟܘܢ
lbkwn bklh lmry' pwlkhwhy 'l' dmry' bthrh mn thsTwn l' brm byshth' klh hd' ebdthwn 'nthwn thdkhlwn l' lem' shmw'yl w'mr
Samuel said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. You have indeed done all this evil; yet don’t turn away from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh with all your heart.

ܘܠܐ ܬܣܛܘܢ ܒܬܪ ܣܪ̈ܝܩܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܡܘܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܡ̈ܦܨܝܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܣܪ̈ܝܩܬܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ
'nyn dsryqth' mTwl lkwn mptsyn wl' thmwthwn dl' sryqth' bthr thsTwn wl'
Don’t turn away to go after vain things which can’t profit or deliver, for they are vain.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܫܒ̇ܩ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܥܡܗ ܡܛܘܠ ܫܡܗ ܪܒܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܛܦܝܣ ܠܡܥܒܕܟܘܢ ܠܗ ܥܡܐ

For Yahweh will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake, because it has pleased Yahweh to make you a people for himself.

ܘܐܢܐ ܚܣ ܠܝ ܕܐܚܛܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܨܠܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܠܦܟܘܢ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܘܬܪܝܨܬܐ
wthrytsth' Tbth' 'wrkh' w'lpkwn elykwn 'tsl' wl' lmry' d'khT' ly khs w'n'
Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Yahweh in ceasing to pray for you; but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.

ܐܠܐ ܕܚܠܘ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܦܘܠܚܘܗܝ ܒܩܘܫܬܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܠܒܟܘܢ ܘܒܟܠܗ̇ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܘܚܙܘ ܕܡܘܪܒ ܥܡܟܘܢ

Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.
